This past spring, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved a plan by Stanley Martin to build 35 new townhomes in Oakton.  The location is on Blake Lane, approximately 2 miles from the Vienna Orange Line Metro.   The 7.4 acre site had been approved for an independent living facility for elderly residents with 120 condominium units and an underground garage.  Take note:  an existing home on the site will remain.

For the privilege of building the townhomes, Stanley Martin contributed $78,000 to be used for the purchase and installation of playground equipment at the Oakton Community Park on Hunter Mill Road.  Metro West is also contributing $25,000 to have the playground constructed within the next year.  Click on the link for more information about the plans for the Oakton Community Park.  Construction on the townhomes is expected to start in late summer or early fall 2011.
